My name is Abraham Kirakosian, and I am excited to serve as your Chair for the NATO Crisis Committee. I am a student with a strong interest in history, international relations, and global security, and I’ve spent much of my academic time analyzing how states respond to conflict and uncertainty. Outside of MUN, I enjoy staying up to date on current events, refining arguments through writing and debate, and challenging myself to think critically about complex global problems.

My Model United Nations journey began in high school, where I was first introduced to the fast-paced and demanding nature of diplomacy. What initially felt overwhelming quickly became something I was deeply passionate about. Over time, MUN helped me develop confidence in public speaking, adaptability under pressure, and an appreciation for collaboration in high-stakes environments. Serving as a chair now allows me to help create an engaging, challenging, and rewarding experience for all of you.

In this committee, you will confront a rapidly evolving crisis involving cyberattacks on NATO members’ critical infrastructure. Decisions will need to be made with incomplete information, competing national priorities, and real risks of escalation. Success will depend on alliance coordination, strategic thinking, and effective communication.

I encourage you to be proactive, creative, and decisive. Take initiative, engage fully, and don’t shy away from difficult choices. I look forward to an intense and memorable committee. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
